Breast Cancer & Lymphedema Rehabilitation

Reduce swelling and pain associated with lymphedema through Burke’s outpatient Lymphedema Rehabilitation Program, offered at three locations in the New York Metro Area. Our experts provide individualized recommendations and treatment to help you manage your condition, which may be chronic or occur after cancer treatment.

Benefits of Lymphedema Rehabilitation

Lymphedema is an accumulation of lymphatic fluid that causes tissues in the body, such as the legs, arms, neck and face, to swell. It can be chronic or develop after cancer treatment or surgery.

There is no cure for lymphedema, but rehabilitation can:

  • Reduce swelling
  • Reduce pain
  • Recommend appropriate use of compression garments
  • Improve function and ability to carry out everyday activities
  • Provide individualized education
