Reduce dizziness, vertigo (a sensation of spinning or moving) and imbalance through the Vestibular Therapy Program at Burke. Burke offers the therapy at five outpatient locations throughout the New York Metro Area. Our specially trained physical and occupational therapists work with you to improve these and other symptoms of a vestibular disorder.

Benefits of Vestibular Therapy

The vestibular system is made up of parts of the inner ear and brain that help maintain balance, posture and stability of the as you move. You may experience symptoms like dizziness when parts of that system are injured or damaged. Physical therapy can help:

What to Expect

Burke therapists treat patients one-on-one in 45 minute sessions. You get holistic care from a therapist devoted to your individual needs. Receive treatment once or twice a week, typically for 4 to 12 weeks. Your treatment plan may include:

  • Gaze stabilization
  • Balance training
  • Habituation exercises to decrease dizziness
  • Use of cutting-edge technology, like infrared goggles
