Application Process

How Do I Become a Resident at Burke?

Burke welcomes applicants to its Graduate Medical Education Program (GME). You can apply to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency during your fourth year of medical school.

Burke also considers applications from qualified international graduates who have:

• Achieved certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
• Passed the USMLE Steps 1 and 2 exams at the time of application. All residents must have excellent spoken and written English.

Submit your application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All positions are filled though the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

What documents do I need to apply?

You must submit the following documents along with your application:

• Three letters of recommendation
• Current C.V. clearly explaining any time gaps
• MSPE (Dean’s letter)
• Medical School transcript
• USMLE/COMLEX transcript
• Current ECFMG certificates (as applicable)

If any document is not in English, a certified or notarized English translation of each document must be provided.

Salary & Benefits

As a Burke resident, you will receive a competitive salary.

Salary:

PGY-2: $74,450.00
PGY-3: $77,600.00
PGY-4: $80,750.00
Chief Resident $84,750.00
