What’s a Concussion?

A concussion is an injury that usually occurs from a blow to the head or body that causes the brain to move quickly back and forth. This movement of the brain within the skull can cause changes in the brain that can result in a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Dizziness
  • Fogginess
  • Headache
  • Memory loss
  • Neck pain
  • Visual disturbances

Most concussions will resolve quickly and fully with proper medical care. Seek prompt evaluation and treatment for a concussion for the best results. Burke’s experts help you at every step with assessment, diagnosis, education and a care plan to support your recovery.
