Spiritual Care

Burke understands the importance of offering you a spiritual home away from home and programs that assist you to heal in mind, body, and spirit. Reach out to our Patient Experience Department team to arrange a visit from a spiritual leader from the Jewish or Catholic faiths, or an Inter-Faith Minister. Burke can also arrange for leaders of other faiths to come and support you and your loved ones. You may attend holiday services for various faiths throughout the year.

Advance Care Planning

You have the right to make your own healthcare decisions if you are 18 years of age or older, including the right to decide what medical care or treatment to accept, reject or discontinue. However, there may be times when you cannot make your wishes known to your physician and care team. By filling out a Healthcare Proxy and Advance Directives, you can make legally valid decisions about your future medical care. These documents are signed in advance to let others know your wishes concerning medical treatment.
